What is it?
ProRox PS 960SA is a mandrel-wound stone-wool pipe section made with the water-repellent WR-Tech binder to reduce the risk of corrosion under insulation (CUI). Supplied split and hinged for snap-on fitting, it is used for thermal and acoustic insulation of industrial pipework. Maximum use temperature is 650 °C, reaction to fire is Euroclass A1, and it meets ASTM C795 for use over stainless steel.

Limitations to know
Insulation thickness must be designed for pipe temperature, target surface temperature and heat loss. High-temperature work should be designed and installed by specialists, and the sections must be finished with metal cladding.

Installation overview
- Fit closely around the pipe with the lengthwise joint underneath; stagger joints
- Secure with galvanised binding wire per the manufacturer; thick or high-temperature work in staggered multiple layers
- Finish with metal (e.g. aluminium) cladding and provide expansion joints where needed
